Julia Fernández is a Madrid-based creator. Her main form of work is through performance and photography. She also uses graphic design, video and poetic and non-fiction writing as means of expression. Her interests are feminism, ecology, the body and its movement, transformation and displacement, wandering and its representation. Stones, tiles, found objects, symbolism, rituals.
 

Almost all her practice is accompanied by other artists. She is part of Invierno collective, where they research on territory and travel, as well as Barbarité performance duo, who collaborate with other artists in other scenic projects. She is also a member of research groups in which they investigate themes such as lists or gardens and libraries.
 

Julia Fernández's practice is linked to life, to self-awareness and to the relationships she establishes between the people she collaborates with.
